The History of Two Mile Landing

Two Mile Landing was a landmark for vacationers over many decades. In April of 2012 it was purchased by a local commercial fishing family. The restaurant had been non-operational since July of 2007 following a floor collapse. The previous owners had demolished a large portion of the restaurant and started the process of rebuilding prior to putting it on the market in 2012.

The Crab House opened in July of 2012 for the first time under ownership by a true local crabbing family. The crabs at Two Mile are harvested locally as often as possible and are only from other waterways when demand outweighs supply. With a new outside dining deck the Crab House specializes in All-You-Can-Eat Blue Claw Crabs, fresh steamed lobster, burgers and casual dinner platters. After a successful first season, construction began in the fall of 2012 on the new 2 Mile Restaurant & Bar. Local contractors and 2 Mile staff worked hard to open for the 2013 summer season. And in July the doors opened. 2 Mile Restaurant and Bar offers upscale casual dining with 21 beers on tap and 12 wines on tap with delectable entrees such as Filet and Lobster Tail, Large Crabs in Garlic Butter, Seafood Fra Diablo and Applewood-Smoked Bacon-wrapped Pork Chops in an Orange Rum Beurre Blanc.

Hurricane Sandy left the Crab House with some significant outside damage on its northern end. This caused the entire Sunset Deck to be reconstructed and extended from the original bar outward.  In 2014 the management and staff got their wish and the owners commissioned the building of a brand new stage.  Live music on one or BOTH decks is a daily occurrence in-season at Two Mile.

With over 500 feet of waterfront dining, 4 menu styles, 2 drink menus, 21 different draft beers and multiple wine selections there truly is something for everyone.  We don’t want you visiting once on your vacation, we’d rather make it so there’s no need to go anywhere else!
